The Seven Deadly Sins

Today we ripped off a blogger named and blog named Mignight Murdina of the blog Not All That Wander Are Lost. This meme was meant to be done with one question a day for 7 days. We are bad at following rules. So we will do it in a day! It is stated that it was “ganked” from Karaokegal. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all of us thieves!

I have limits ; don't have seven illustrations for each sin but I so enjoyed doing this meme today.

1 - Pride. Seven great things about yourself. Financial independence / Imagination / Emotional resilience / Showing the ex-hubster I can do what he thinks I can't

2 - Envy. Seven things you lack and covet. J / J jr / Math aptitude / Entrepreneurial skill

3 - Wrath. Seven things that piss you off. Men who propose marriage at the wrong time / Inaccurate research / Santa Demonitas (sluts pretending to be morally upright)

4 - Sloth. Seven things you neglect to do. Laundry / Dishes / Breakfast / Sleep / Volunteering / Freelance job

5 - Greed. Seven worldly material desires. Shoes / Antiques

6 - Gluttony. Seven guilty pleasures. Facebooking when I should be doing something else / Household brands: fake and original / BS mode / Twirling jealous wannabe morons at work with 'bite-my-butt-if-you-can' attitude

7 - Lust. Seven love secrets. Thanks for saying "secrets" I don't have to type them then.

Hallelujah Chorus: stand or sit?

According to legend, King George II of England rose to his feet when the Hallelujah Chorus was sung. Following protocol his subjects rose up as well. Thus began the tradition of audiences around the world rising during the Hallelujah performace. There are many speculations as to why the king stood or if he even stood at all. The Bangkok Combined Choir is composed of volunteer singers of around twenty nationalities. Every year in December, the choir performs Handel's Messiah. I sang once. (pure luck: there was no audition in 2000) Rehearsals got me thinking of the tradition of standing when the Hallelujah Chorus is sang. I googled what people have to say and my today is a list of opinions about audience decorum during the chorus: 1. The Hallelujah Chorus is like an anthem for the church. Whenever you hear it you are supposed to stand up. 2. Standing for the Hallelujah Chorus just interrupts the performance. 3. People should not be taught that they need to stand up at a certain time ...

Regency delight and love language

Friday's Fave Five: Regency Period Cake Please scroll down for Mommy Moments Ambience of Banana Leaf Restaurant dinners continue to be the trend for us this week. Rustic charm has always been a big hit to me and Banana Leaf's got it. Buckets of real wheat, garlic and pumpkin hang adorning the wall. Plus the sweet and sour fish and chicken with cashew nuts and mushroom are a real pleasure. J Lo Live This was a gift to me two years ago. Cj is too young to be choosy with scents. He smiles playfully when I spray it on him and I laugh inwardly thinking he is a boy wearing a girl's perfume. This week we both smell the same :) Cyberbanking I finally dragged documents and myself down K Bank to register for online financial transactions. Spending only what I earn suits me best as I avoid debts and the convenience of sorting expenses any time of day in familiar surrounding is always welcome. Music in the air Whatever happened to the PA system at work? An old song was coming off it t...

Weekend Snapshot: Lipstick and goodbye

Catching a flight during Holy Week in the Philippines is difficult. I am keeping track of my mother's travel to Auntie M's wake in Cebu via SMS and overseas calls. God she was a very cool aunt; loyal to my philandering uncle til the very end. She had a flair for smart fashion. I wonder how did she look like before she made her final exit. She was once facetious, "I want to be buried wearing my electric red lipstick." Whether she's getting what she wanted or not, I do not yet know. The latest update that popped into my pc instead says Mama (who arrived at 4 AM today) and Auntie M's daughters are in a hair saloon. I am convinced they are having fun despite the occasion that brought them together. Girls will be girls, funeral or not. And I'm stuck jealous in Bangkok. So what else is there to do but snap the weekend away. This is my urn and the clay base of my reading lamp. Auntie M is not headed for the crematorium though, but going down a vault. And my urn i...
