Glory of Love

Musical Monday and Music Monday Blog Hop: Glory of Love, Beaches version
Amanda @ Bloggin with Amanda host Musical Monday & Denise @ Run DMT hosts Music Monday Blog Hop
Of all versions of this song, this is what I like best. The pianist makes me chuckle; reminds me of audition time in school. I like the girl's confidence in her performance.

My lair's got 24-hour security. Besides, it's a burglar's disappointment so without the slightest scruple, I shouted out on FB, "aweright, aweright paradise here we come!"

A city girl revels in her weekend luck: mountains behind, ocean in front.

Sunday Stealing: The "I've Been Tagged" Meme

Today we ripped this meme of a blogger known as Kara at The Ramblings of a Marine Wife. We actually found the meme from Shius from the blog Addicted 2 Shius. Since this is a meme that has been going around for a while where you answer questions, and then add questions, we decided to use three sets. Kara explained that she was tagged by Life with the Lebedas. But it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Mrs Orpheus

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

1. Who in your life do you think behaves and thinks the most like you do? maybe one of my friends; birds of a feather

2. As a kid, were you ever wrongly accused (and punished, if it went that far) for something you didn't do? If so, what was it? What happened? nope; parents were good bodyguards

3. What about as an adult, were you ever wrongly accused for something you didn't do?? Do you think it's worse to be accused as a child or an adult? Why/why not? yes. I wish I handled it the noble way though, but I told the accusers to f*** the h*** off. My life is good and no one is ruining it.

3. What’s the scariest weather situation you’ve experienced? rainstorm. I woke up to find my piano floating in the living room.

4. If you could wake up tomorrow morning in another country, where would you want to be and why? France. I'd like to go jet'aime, jet'aime :-)

5. Instead of going to work Monday, if you could spend the entire day doing something else--any one or two things that you absolutely love doing--what would you do? a book in the left hand, tequila sunrise in the right, with occasional glances at the ocean

6. What sites (other than meme sites) do you use most to help you post on your blog? Friday's Fave Five, Mommy Moments, Thursday Thirteen (is it gone?), Musical Monday, Monday Mayhem, Sunday Stealing, Our Weekend Memoirs

7. Check out a post on your blog from six months ago (March 2010) and tell us what is different now about your blog and/or life? They're just breasts ... puts an added interest to post more That's My World and Friday Photo Flashback entries. I don't want these files forgotten. They help me decide what to do next with life.

8. What was the last photograph you took?

9. Which fashion trend do you believe is the most horrendous and why? I don't care if an annoying colleague wore this, but if I saw Taylor Lautner in it I'd kill myself nyahahah!

Butterfly Kiss

It's Friday and time for a look-back:

1. Paying attention to my nook on its wakey mode. Monday I arrived at work an hour early. Brown birds were chattering precociously on the still-empty parking lot. The gardener's dog was munching a rubber slipper behind the gate. The place smelt like it had never known pollution of any kind. I liked what I witnessed.

2. Multi-lingual multi-tasking:

- ears listening to an earphone song, nakalimutan mo na bang tumawa? (have you forgotten to laugh?)
- fingers composing a text message, nikaon na si CJ? (has CJ eaten yet?)
- eyes scanning a PR paper, "... government to mobilize resources for defense and military establishments"
- mouth clarifying instructions, mai ao tini; song akhan sippeht (I don't want it here. Send it to Bldg. 18)

*Three languages, one dialect lasting less than 3 minutes. I thought it was fun.

3. Apple pie with warm custard sauce; beef cheese tacos garnished with tomatoes and cilantro eaten over good conversation with a girl friend

4. A friend emailed how his little relatives 'came tearing through his house unannounced.' The upside was getting a butterfly kiss from 3-year old Olivia.

5. Bonus at the hair saloon. I was there for a routine shampoo and blow dry. But a saloon professional went the extra mile by giving me a head massage as well.

For more or to join, head over to Susanne's Living to Tell the Story.

Disney Magic

Relying almost entirely on milk and unless starving, CJ doesn't eat. So when I witness moments like this, I feel relieved. His recent snack choice is kechup or soy sauce. To make him eat something healthy I try these strategies simultaneously: coax, beg, threaten, set an example by eating the food myself or bribe.

"I'll let you play all you want with Winnie the Pooh, Lion King and Mickey Mouse if you eat," goes the motivating factor behind this episode. Ibbity-Bobbity Boo! a little mouth opens wide.

For a picky eater, this bite looks big enough to last him til the next snack time.

Snacks going on at the Mommy Journey.

Life goes on

Our Weekend Memoirs: Marang
Scroll down a bit for Sunday Stealing

My former Education boss passes away. A couple of meters from the little church where her funeral was held, a wee stand of marangs beckons the wanderer in me.

Only in da Pilipins. Pinoys often say or hear that phrase. I'm not sure where else does this fruit exist.

The cortege inches out of the church yard. I whisper, "bye, Ma'am Arcon" and negotiate (read: haggle) the price of one of these marangs.

Sunday Stealing: The Threesome Meme
Scroll up a bit for Our Weekend Memoirs

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing. Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!!

Today we ripped this meme from three people! The first eight questions were ripped from a blogger and blog called Foxymoron (left). She explains that she stole it from The Harridan. The second part of this meme was written by some blog buddies of ours since WTIT: The Blog first published in '06. Mr Lance (right) from Solitary Views and Frank (bellow) from Foxxfyrrer's Honk 'n' Holl'r! They decided to do a “two blogs meme” by asking each other 5 questions each. One question they actually never even asked! It was because Frank's mom reads his blog and apparently the question was a bit racy. (See the post by clicking here. It's full of funny schtick.) We left one question out since it was really asked twice. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all of us thieves!

1. At what time of your life were you happiest and why? Right now. I'm twirling freedom galore in my grinning, little fingers.

2. Where and when did you meet the love of your life? I have yet to meet him - excitement in the air, duh

3. Favourite item of clothing ever or most treasured possession? the memories and anticipation of happy things to come

4. Must-have makeup or beauty item? lipstick

5. What do you think is your worst vice or fault .. honestly? I work on not getting mad. And that means I get even.

6. Would you tell your friend, if you knew her husband/wife was cheating on her/him? if it's not necessary, I'll be happy not to get involved

7. What ambitions, wishes or desires, for your life, do you still hold close to your heart? when my heart opens up I'll let you know

8. Where do you see yourself five years from now? this again; but ok, anywhere as long I'm happy

9. If you had the choice of any talent with the penalty that you would lose a talent in exchange, what would you want to gain, and what would you be willing to lose? persuasion skill - getting anything more than I need

10. Name three things that you do want completed in your life before retiring? I prefer my games played while retiring

11. Of all of the people out there who would have been your fantasy date? Date, not romance... an ala-Jacob Black shapeshifter my age

12. Google put another spell on you, you have just changed genders for 48 hours... what are you going to do with your 2 days? behave accordingly

13. If you owned your own island, and got to make it your own country, what would you call it? And why? Isle Stasia

Saturday 9: Don't let the sun catch you crying
Scroll down for Weekend Funnies

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

1. When was the last time you cried? 4 years ago

2. If you could wake up tomorrow with a new talent, what would it be? play the piano better than I do today

3. Who is someone (other than yourself) would you like to go back into your past and talk to and why? ex-Hubster to see if he would have agreed to send me to flying school instead of graduate school. Damn I should have been a licensed helicopter pilot by now.

4. What is your favorite meal eating out? Thai and Japanese, seafood too

5. Do you feel energized or drained by being in a group situation? If the answer is "it depends," on what does it depend? energized if I'm with people I like, love, care about

6. What word do you use far too frequently? why

7. What’s a word you’ve invented? (alternate question: What needs a word but doesn’t have one yet?) pain party

8. Pick out one of your favorite songs. Go to Song Facts and tell us about the song's history. Evergreen: the 1976 remake of A Star Is Born theme. Says Paul Williams who co-wrote the song: "I actually wrote those first two lines in the opposite order, 'Love, fresh as the morning air, love soft as an easy chair.' I called Barbra as I was getting on a plane to go on tour with Olivia Newton-John, and said, 'You know what, flip those two first lines, because it sings better.' 'Love, soft as an easy chair, love, fresh as the morning air.' 'Morning' sang better at that point in the song. And I remember saying to Barbra, 'They'll probably laugh us out of the theaters for starting a love song with a line about a chair, but I think it works better that way.' It was the biggest-selling soundtrack album ever at that time, winning the triple crown: the Oscar, the Grammy, and the Golden Globe."

9. What is your absolute favorite piece of furniture you have and why? a dining set because I love to eat with close family and friends
