Air Supply

My first concert was a local/small town type and although I enjoyed it I guess I should feature something that co-MM participants could more likely relate with.

Air Supply has been around since the 80s. Because I was crazy about them when I was a teen, I and my then bf bought front row seats when they performed in Bangkok in 2000. Changes in their looks and voices were evident but I didn't care. They sang many of my faves and that's what mattered. When the band began playing the intro to Making Love Out of Nothing at All, the audience went wild. As well-worn as the description may seem, that's how sentimental Bangkokians behaved that night. Towards the end of this hit the entire Bangkok Convention Hall rose to give them a standing ovation.

After all these years I haven't gotten tired of listening to them. Once I sang along one of their many hits playing off an MP3 and a niece said, "Auntie, you know Someone Who Believes in You? That's our high school graduation song."

Personally, there's something nostalgic about aging soft rock stars. Fab, old Australian duo. They gave one happy fan a lovely evening reminiscing beautiful memories.

Can't say I get the same feeling from Air Supply. LOL Oh well. To each her own, right? ;-) But I do love soft rock.

Speaking of soft rock...A GF and I were discussing Matt Kearney the other day. I called him alternative and she called it adult contemporary. I said, "Oh no. I am too young for adult contemporary. Let's label him adult alternative." LOL See, to each her own. ;-)

I have never heard of air supply before. Have a great day.
Well, my first "official" concert was one put on by my high school teachers, but, I didn't dare feature that one! LOL Love Air Supply!

Happy MM!
OMG I love Air Supply. "I'm lying alone with my head on the phone, thinking of you 'til it hurts. I know you hurt too, but what else can we do..." Wow talk about memory lane!

Hubby & I LOVED Air Supply, we wore out several of their cassettes, but never managed to see them in concert.

I saw a VH1 interview type thing with them a few years ago & was thrilled that they are still singing.

Happy Music Monday!!!

Love them. I saw a very romantic open air concert of theirs in the 1980's with my first real boyfriends. Listening to them in the dark, with my first love is a great memory!

It's a week abundant with life's little pleasures, and I'm enjoying such a great Friday mood with the FFF ladies over at Susanne's Living to Tell the Story . If you are dropping by from Mommy Moments, please scroll down a bit; thank you. Now the highlights of my week -- 1. Birthday dinner at Cabbages and Condoms . Friday's Fave Five: Foggy Mornings (Please scroll down for Mommy Moments) i. Refund . The business office refunded my visa problem expenses. I had to pay the fine but they took care of everything else which was a pleasant surprise as I didn't expect them to and I already conditioned my mind to face a few deprivations. A colleague who is privy to the vice president told me, "They refunded you because they need you." I don't know whether I should believe it. Foreign employees are sometimes treated like necessary evil around here. But well, it's the refund that's the fave. ii. Foggy mornings . I counted two early mornings of fog. I could not see buildings 2 minute-walk away. The illusion of cold made me smile. iii. Bible Heroes , Ceejay's new DVD interest. He never wanted to watch it when he was 3.
